A Warm Welcome to Ahaus in North Rhine-Westphalia

Nestled harmoniously into the landscape, and in pleasant proximity to the Netherlands, Steinfurt County, the Baumberge and Hohe Mark Regional Park, lies North Rhine-Westphalia.

Peaceful country, extensive country, farmers’ country. An infinitely varied mosaic of extensive meadows and fields, thick, high hedges, gentle elevations, shady pastoral copses. Within it, little villages like colourful dots, enlivening the sweeping landscape with their red-tiled roofs – the peaceful parklands of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the middle of this attractive landscape lies AHAUS. And it is also likely that there are more nature conservation areas here, on the border with the Netherlands, than anywhere else. Wetlands, reclaimed peat moors and heathland -Wittes Venn, Schwattes Gatt, Amts Venn and Graeser Venn, Hündfelder Moor and Wacholderheide.

Close ties with history, attractive countryside , art and culture and an exuberant life lend the castle town, 1000 years young, its unmistakeable identity.
AHAUS, along with the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia, are ideal for drawn-out cycle tours and recuperative holidays.

For wherever there is nature, calm and time available, there is room for relaxation, recuperation and discovery.
Stress-free – Worry-free – Be there!
